2 MEN ACCUSED OF STEALING FROM CARS.(CAPITAL REGION)(Correction notice)

ALBANY -- Police have charged two city men with stealing cellular phones, radar detectors and compact disc players from numerous cars over 2 weeks.

The suspects, operating along State and Orange streets and Washington, Western and Sheridan avenues, smashed car windows to get at the items, although they found the doors of one vehicle unlocked, police said. Some of the owners reported damage to their car interiors.

Lodged at the Albany County jail are Donnell Hanner, 28, of 164 Orange St. and John Hemingway, 31, of 136 Hamilton St.
