SOME PRESIDENTIAL NON-AMBITIONS.(Main)

Some readers have urged me to run for public office, and a few real optimists have suggested that I run for president. However, Governor Clinton and President Bush are both quite safe from me, and even Ross Perot is unlikely to be upstaged.

Probably everyone is better off the way they are. But what would my policies be if I were in the White House?

How would I handle the famine in Somalia, for example? As president I would not only send in food, but would also send in the Marines, with orders to shoot to kill anyone who tried to interfere with the distribution of that food.

This would undoubtedly save more lives today. …
